A retired high school teacher, Louise Kantro has dedicated a lifetime to nurturing young minds and inspiring a love of learning that reaches far beyond the classroom. An activist at heart, she has long championed social justice, education equity, and community engagement, bringing the same passion for fairness and progress to public life as to teaching.

A lifelong writer, Louise finds joy in the rhythm of words, weaving together poetry and prose that reflect both personal reflection and collective experience. Her work often explores the intersections of memory, resilience, and hope, giving voice to stories that might otherwise remain unheard.

Since 2014, Louise has volunteered as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for foster children.

Now enjoying retirement, Louise continues to write, speak, and advocate—proving that the pursuit of knowledge, creativity, and justice is a calling that never truly retires.
